Nawel Mahieddine
A compassionate and astute entrepreneur, Nawel is determined and thoughtful, the kind of strong and resilient person who, like her mother, Danièle Henkel, is hard working and rules with an iron hand in a velvet glove. Along with her two sisters and her brother, she was instrumental in the growth of Les Entreprises Danièle Henkel from 2003 to 2020. Today, she is Ms. Henkel’s right hand in her role of Vice President of Danièle Henkel Communications.
As a young woman, Nawel was manager to about sixty employees in the restaurant industry, a sizable challenge that she undertook with ease and enthusiasm. At 26 years old, she joined the ranks of the family business where she earned her stripes. First, she was assigned to deliveries, then to accounting. Next, she worked in administration and customer service before becoming a sales representative, then a manager and finally the executive director.
Ever the diplomat, and gifted with a keen sense of fairness, Nawel has become a major asset to the company in matters of crisis management as well as in fostering a healthy corporate culture. In 2010, she established the company’s human resources department, which she then oversaw over the course of a decade.
Nawel’s business acumen, which has only been heightened by studies in management and marketing, has led her to excel in sales and negotiation. Between 2012 and 2017, she headed a Canadian business development team within the family company.
Bolstered by her innovative ideas, Nawel took on the challenge of launching her own company in February of 2020. “My own wants re-surfaced. I had a vision, ideas about how to do things in business. That’s how far I had come.”
Coincidentally, it was then that she was presented with a golden opportunity: Danièle Henkel asked her to be her right hand in the company Danièle Henkel Communications. Nawel jumped at the chance to carve out a place for herself that would match the size of her ambition; she took on the role developing Ms. Henkel’s brand image.
Nawel has been running operations at Henkel Media since November 2020, overseeing its development and reach. With great joy and conviction, she has taken her place as a leader and strategist.
“My mother knew me well as a manager and an intrapreneur, but she’s now discovering the businesswoman and the communicator in me. I guess the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!”
Apart from her professional responsibilities, Nawel, a mom of two, also finds time to moderate and animate various conferences and events.
